Alloy tool steels and application:


Measuring and cutting of steel, is commonly used low alloy tool steel with high hardenability and hardenability, and higher temper resistance. Alloy tool steel can be used in the manufacture of complex shape, deformation, high abrasion resistance, low-speed cutting tools, such as drill bits, thread tools, reamers, die, tap, thread rolling board and rolling wheels.


Chemical composition of alloy tool steel:


Carbon C: 0.85 ~ 0.95


Si Si: 1.20 ~ 1.60


Manganese Mn: 0.30 ~ 0.60


Sulfur S: ≤ 0.030


Phosphorus P: ≤ 0.030


Chromium Cr: 0.95 ~ 1.25


Ni: to allow the residual content of ≤ 0.25


Copper Cu: to allow the residual content of ≤ 0.30


Mechanical properties of alloy tool steel:


Hardness: Annealed, 241 ~ 197HB, indentation diameter of 3.9 ~ 4.3mm; 187 ~ 229HB (manufacturing thread tools); quenching, ≥ 62HRC


Alloy tool steel heat treatment and microstructure specifications:


Heat treatment specifications: sample quenching 820 ~ 860 ℃, oil cooling.
