Characteristics and Uses:
80, No. 65 steel with similar performance, its flexibility somewhat less than 65 gauge steel, high strength, low hardenability, quenching and tempering in the state of general use. Not used in the manufacture of high strength, cross-sectional dimensions smaller spiral springs, plate springs, mechanical parts subject to wear.
85: high wear resistance of high-carbon steel, higher strength steel than 70, while the elasticity is slightly lower, similar to other properties, hardenability is poor. Section size is not used in the manufacture, not too high to withstand the vibration strength of the spring, automotive and railway vehicles and general machinery of spring, circular spiral spring.
